God Grew Tired of Us
This is a must see! You'll find it disturbing, funny, and filled with truth. It will make you wonder if we, as Americans really do have everything or if we aren't missing something big such as community. We shared this movie with Belle, our 9 year old and she equally enjoyed it.
Basically, the documentary follows a few of The Lost Boys of Sudan. It provides their history, which I was quite ignorant of, and their travels to the U.S. These "boys" had never experienced anything of modern technology, no electricity, toilets, or modern ways of travel. One of them, profoundly reflects throughout the documentary on some of the emptiness in the U.S, despite all of the luxeries. Watch it!
