Profile Information

About Me:
I (Karla) was born in Falmouth, MI and lived there until I married Paul when I was 18 (high school sweethearts)! We moved to Traverse City 33 years ago.
We have lived in the same house for 31 years, raising 3 children- Tricia, Michelle, and Eric. We have 3 grandkids, Jocelyn, Olivia and Trevor. I love being a wife and mom, and now a grandma!
My hobbies are flower gardening, boating and camping. One of my favorite ways to spend a summer day is to take breakfast out on the boat, throw down the anchor, have a quiet time and then read a good book.

I (Paul) love being a husband to Karla, a father, and Papa to the grandkids.
We have learned to love many of the same hobbies, I'll change flower gardening to vegtable gardening and add woodworking to my list.
Location:
East side of Traverse City
When is your birthday? (month/day only)

My passions and gifts:
My passion is people. I love people! I love to extend God's love in a relevant way to the people around me. I also love helping people discover who God has made them to be and then helping them see God in every situation/experience they might find themselves in.
I also love seeking after God. He is so faithful, and I am continually growing in my experience and knowledge of Him. (Karla)

My Passion in the Christian context is prayer, group discussion, and music/worship and whatever else helps us grow deeper in our faith and our relationship with Christ. (Paul)
Justice, Environmental, and/or Stewardship issues I am concerned about:
Accepting people where they are at and extending God's love to them.

Oh...NMC. We played them a lot in sports. I guess mainly basketball. The girls were always sooo tall. :)
My maiden name was Dryer. We lived there for about 11 years. My dad was a pastor at the UMC in LC, that's what brought us to the area.
Small world. :)

Karla...I was just checking out your profile on here, and saw that you were born in Falmouth? I grew up in Lake City. Where did you go to school --- McBain or Lake City? Sounds like Paul was from the same area.
Anyway, my husband and I have enjoyed visiting with you both at church. Hope you have a wonderful week. I may see you on Thurs morning for coffee.

Hi Paul & Karla! Sorry we missed you a few Sundays back. How have things been for you? We are in Des Moines, IA now, working with a church on a volunteer basis. We are helping them set up a ministry for their teens and young adults. God has really blessed us over the past few months, and it feels great to be able to be back in ministry again (even if it is only on a volunteer level). We are hoping to become full time pastors again next year in New Zealand. Please keep us in your prayers, as you are in ours.

Love Justian & Colleen

Thinking about it - twins are sick - will have to see how they're doing & if Mike feels up to dealing w/bedtime w/sick kids on his own. Thanks for the reminder!

I'm hoping to make it; it will depend on if Ben needs the minivan still on Tuesday or if his car will be out of the shop. I'm hoping for the latter!

Karla, I just wanted to say thank you to you and Paul for having us over on Sunday. It made a huge diffrence for us to finally find people who we can relate, share, pray, and just be our selves with. Thank you so much for openning up your home and lives to us.

Hi Karla! I just wanted to thank you for you prayers regarding the sale of our house. We received an offer today and most likely will take it. Now we get to do the fun part of finding a new place! Thank you again for your prayers and we'll see you Sunday!
